Other than the ability to use OOo to create webpages that masquerade as email, what functionality does OOo need, to better integrate with email clients? > That a small business looking to switch could have a point of contact ( > OpenOfficce.org the organization ) that can do more then just say - ok here > is our piece, now go find the other pieces on your own and good luck...rather > ..here is our package, here is another package that we know how to work with > and here are some tools to put the pieces together. > OpenOffice.org form a partnership, of sorts, with the organization that > delivers that communications piece In theory, OOo currently has that with Mozilla. >a single source implementation If you mean wrapping OOo with Thunderbird, Pidgin, etc, I think that between the OpenDisc Project, and the TTCS OSS-WIN Project, that is covered. What is missing, is one stop tech support for the packages included on those CDs. If, OTOH, you meant that the OOo Documentation Project should cover things like using the Thunderbird Contact Manager from within OOo, then the issue is finding somebody willing, and able to write that documentation. If, on the gripping hand, you meant including Thunderbird, Pidgin, etc with OOo, for downloading, maybe Kami can be talked into doing that with OxygenOffice. Though how many people will be willing to download is 400 MB file, even if it is a complete office suite. (Current file sizes for Windows. OxygenOffice - multilingual version 348 MB, Pidgin - English 10.4 MB, Thunderbird - English 7 MB, Freemind 8 MB, Inkscape 34 MB, GANTTProject 10 MB, Plone 26 MB, GIMP 16 MB, Scribus ?. Going by the components listed on the Wikipedia article "comparison of Office Suites, that covers everything that is expected.) xan jonathon --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
