When she saved the file, she should have saved in Word format. PDF
might also be acceptable. That's an option, when using Save as. Also,
ensure automatic file name extension is enabled. A useful tool for this
is the portable version from portableapps.com, which can be carried on a
USB flash drive and used with any Windows computer.
