James, I grant your point, but to refine my query a bit, would it be feasible to either include the core in each of the OOo suite apps, with a device to make certain that it isn't installed several times in the event a users downloads and installs several apps - e g, Writer, Calc, and Impress - or to download and install a separate core first, and then the specific application(s) (without the core) requested by a user ? Would this be so difficult and complicated to do that the advantages of the flexibility discussed on this thread would be outweighed ?... Henri
