Hi Harold.
The ability to make entries in the Issue Tracking system for one. These
could be:
- a request for enhancement to an existing function
- a request for a totally new feature
- to report an anomaly (bug)
- vote for an existing issue.
Since he mentioned that he has not logged in quite a while it may even
be that he entered an issue that only recently has had work done on it.
This would trigger an email to him. For him to make any further comment
on it, then he needs to be logged in.
Another example: When something has been in the system for a long time,
and for whatever reason was not worked originally, a QA person may ask
the original reporter if the problem persists still under newer
releases. If the reporter does not respond in some reasonable period of
time it is often just closed.
