Brian, you are 100% correct - that is exactly what I did. But it's all sorted out now, thanks to everyone who wrote me - I have had to purchase another 2GB bandwidth to see us through the month of June due to all the updates for Vista Business 32, HP drivers, OOo 3.0beta, OOo 2.4.x, etc., that have become available since the software was installed on the laptops.
Thanks for understanding my problem. When I download 2.4 for my wife's machine, I will connect the laptop via the ethernet cable to the router and not rely on the wlan. This is a wonderfully open group ... is there any way of filtering out those messages I don't need other than creating GMail Filtering Rules? My mailbox was full with about 26 new mail messages today and I simply do not have the time to read through all of them. -- Ian Samson Sound Studio http://www.lp2cd.za.net/ [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2008/6/6 Brian Barker <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > At 13:43 04/06/2008 +0200, Ian Samson wrote: > >> Thanks Brian, perhaps the 127MB download got corrupted somehow and the >> installer told me "Wrong OS or OS Version" when I ran the installer - it did >> not self-install. >> > > Yes: of course it is possible for the original download to have become > corrupted, but the most likely outcome of that would be that it would then > fail to unpack properly into the component files.
