Just for info. The eps file is reported as invalid by several programs,
including:
The GIMP 2.4.6
Paintshop Pro XI
Ghostscript / GSview 4.8
The only one to open the file is GSview, which offers diagnostic
information and options to continue loading.
Maybe the PDF importer is not buggy, just less tolerant of faulty EPS?

Interesting! Have a look at the eps file in a text editor and see if you
still think it's perfect. The diagnostic produced bt GSview seems valid
to me and, under Windows XP OOo 2.4.1 and m19 don't open it correctly.
Scribus is the only program I have tried that seems trouble free.
