Somebody already did write the software that Harold needs, and he
seems rather pleased with it. So he runs the OS which the software was
designed for. Harold uses the tool that was meant for the job, not the
tool that fits some ideal or crusade.

I encourage Harold and others to write to the toolmakers and tell them
that we want their tools on our OS. Those who do not let the software
writers know what OS they use have no basis for complaining when the
software gets written for a different OS. Especially if there is a
perceived preference for that other OS.
