This problem usually happens when the recipient is running Microsoft
Office and is sent a file in ODF format (the default for OpenOffice).
Microsoft Office cannot open ODF files, unless the Sun ODF plugin is
installed. Are you sending the file in ODF or Microsoft Office (.DOC
etc.) format.
The latest version of OpenOffice is 2.4.1 and is available from
www.openoffice.org.
