Hi Julian,
I'm aware of the problems of trying to run the same code with different interpreters. I think you're missing an important point, though. V3 of OOo has introduced MS VBA compatibility as a new feature. It's there for the plain vanilla code, but not yet complete.

Understood. That Extended MS BASIC which was on the Spectrovideo 328 was almost exactly like the Extended BASIC then found on the IBM and clone desktops. The basics (plain vanilla) would work with both. It was when you were trying to do more that you could run into a problem.

So we are "on the same page." When I wrote of any sort of major editing, I was, of course, speaking of translating something like a program written in SQL into VBA; but, as you point out, unless the interpreter or compiler works in an identical manner in understanding the source code in the same way, and, all of the source code, you still have to tweak the code for it to work the way you wish.

   Thanks for the clarification.

                                  Regards,

                                  Julian.
