I was trying to do a simple spread sheet with your product....I wasn't
able to save my project with the lines.
In other words, when I reopened my project, the lines were gone.
Also, I can't seem to open with Microsoft Word or Excell...... I thought
Open Office was compatible?
I had my co-workers try also...They couldn't figure it out either.
I was hoping Open Ofiice would be "User Friendly" :-(
I may have to just Un-Install your product, as it doesn't seem to meet
my needs.

Jerry,
Actually, OpenOffice is user friendly. It just operates differently than
other products that you may be more familiar with. As to Question #1 -
'your lines are missing' - I for one, am not exactly sure what lines you
are referring to. Is it the cell borders, or the actual text itself that
is missing? A little clearer information please.
Question #2 - 'can't open with MS Word or Excel' - Just like MS
products, OpenOffice saves files in a default format (odt, ods, etc.)
unless you specify otherwise. To save a document in a MS compatible
format you would nedd to do a 'Save as..' and select the Microsoft Word
97/200/XP doc item. Make sure that the checkbox that says 'Automatic
file name extension' is checked. Then MS Word can open your documents.
The same would go for saving spreadsheets from OOCalc, you just opt to
save as an MS Excel spreadsheet format. The difference between MS
Products and OpenOffice - is that OpenOffice can automatically read any
documents produced by MS in formats that proceed the 2007 versions.
OpenOffice v3.0 (to be released this fall) will even be able to read the
newer MS 2007 formats. In this respect, OpenOffice is much more 'User
Friendly' than MS Office.
