Shawn, on the page to which you link, it is noted that the MD Hash Tool
Extension for Firefox is no longer available, and the OOo Team requests that
any more modern versions be brought to there attention. An «experimental
add-on», «MD5 Hasher» which performs this function is, in fact, available
from Mozilla.com (I don't dare here to provide a URL, so those interested
are requested to search for the address themselves). I haven't used this
add-on myself, but if anyone else here has, they might want to take the
opportunity to let us know how it worked for them....
