That's okay by me as long as it doesn't impact the ant build.  (And I
assume I should switch things over to maven starting with 0.30.)

I'm still seeing the C++ test failures I mentioned earlier, but there have
been a number of changes on the release branch, so I think it's time to
stop waiting and produce a "beta 2" in short order.  The build fixes and
maven preview can come in after that, in time for RC1.
