This is exactly what I did...
1) downoaded the extension from "nightly"
2) expanded the file: [unzip sogo_integrator-10pre1.xpi]
3) edited the extensions.rdf using TextMate
4) applied the command above [zip -r 
/Users/myuser/Downloads/SOGo_ext/org/intgr/sogo-integrator-10.0pre1.xpi]
5) fired up Thunderbird esr (no extensions installed) and tried to install the 
extension but get the response: "This add-on could not be installed because it 
appears to be corrupt."

By the way, I am running OS X 10.7.3
