starting with Ubuntu 14.04 Trusty.
I installed Samba 4.1.6 but was stopped at installing OpenChange (as the
rpcproxy and ocsmanager packages are not ready apparently for Trusty,
and Inverse hasn't completed the repositories)
Ludovic indicated the repositories will be upgraded once OpenChange 2.2
is released (link

server with Samba and without LDAP
