Semi-OT, but portsnap(8) makes fetching the ports indexes no longer
necessary.  portsnap is also orders of magnitude faster than
cvsup/csup, as it only sends diffs from the previously downloaded
snap, and those diffs are precalculated.  It was written by Colin
Percival, the FreeBSD Security Officer, and so it is also quite
reliable.  It's been part of the base OS since 6.2 or so.  If you're
not using it, I highly recommend it.
