We it works. Thanks for all the great help. I tracked down the problem to "wcescomm.exe" from microsoft which seems have acquired a level of noteriety and a coll aborative tool ercalled "dimdim" which does have a tomcat it, and is hard to remove from your computer, you need to download and install the special MS uninstall tool , which I recommend (I als used it to get rid of that persistant and nasty "Answers" toolbar in Firefox, I believe "Answers" is a malware company)
