Maybe instead of the wiki, it could go directly into the "binaries" folder's README, so they are linked-to from the place people would end up if they were trying to download a binary. I know that Debian/Ubuntu has a package for mod_jk called "libapache2-mod-jk" so you can just do "apt-get install libapache2-mod-jk" and it will get all the deps (libc6 (>= 2.7-1), apache2.2-common, apache2), etc. So we have two data points (RHEL and Debian).
