Well, regarding the two parties, I would agree that our current president
has done zilch to advance our cause, but I am fearful that Bush will be
even less receptive to metric progress.  Certainly we should give the man a
chance, and encouragement, and everything else we can.  But I would be
surprised to read about any pro-metric news from the incoming
administration.  But on the other hand, I think he is pro-NAFTA, which
shows some forward thinking on free trade and the like.  

I, and I think most Democrats, are hopeful, but are like people from
Missouri: "Show Me".
