It seems the Italian news feels that it must use FFU when communicating in
English. In the three excerpts below, Italian and Spanish forms of the same
story mention a temperature of 18 degrees (18 gradi/grados) and then for
English they use 34 degrees "farenheit". Not only is Fahrenheit spelled
wrong, but 18ºC is nowhere near 34ºF.

I hope some of you write to the Italian news agency responsible for these
reports and complain that you do not understand the units. Especially, some
of the Europeans or other non-Americans who understand neither Spanish or
Italian and rely on the English version. Yet, when these people read the
English version they are hampered by units not used in their world. It
needs to be driven in that only a very small portion of English speakers
understand FFU, and for the majority who don't, the article loses its
meaning.

Keiner ist hoffnungsloser versklavt als derjenige, der irrtümlich glaubt
frei zu sein.

There are none more hopelessly enslaved then those who falsely believe they
are free!
