I understood Gene to mean more than twice 1.
One does something once, twice, three times, four times, ... 101 times, ...
In that series, 101 times is certainly more that twice, with no
qualification of "twice" required.
In our quest for clear definitions, let's not forget common, correct English
usage.

More than twice WHAT? Certainly 101 is not more than twice 100, which is
what it seems to me to say.
Just as with percentages, words like "half of", "twice", etc. should not be
used without specifying "of what" or establishing the "of what" by prior
context, neither of which was done above. If it is more than twice, I'd like
to know twice WHAT?
