To be completely honest with you, I haven't heard any rumours of (fully and irrevocably metric) Russia wanting to join the EU. NATO is a different story, with the new "NATO at twenty" deal. I think the WTO will be the first priority for my country.

Madan, just for my information (I am not an economist !) what is the ppp method ? >As for Russia, they are waiting to join the EU and >NATO. But its a force to be reckoned with. With due respect to the Russians, I doubt they will join the EU before long. You certainly know that the question of broadening of the EU to new Member States is quite sensitive for the moment. Poland, Hungary and a few other countries will join in a couple of years. It will take much longer for countries like Slovakia and Romania. As for Russia... Anyway, best wishes to all members of the list, and greetings from France and Europe (with the euro and metric measures !) Louis
