You are assuming that red-necks are a rational crowd. If you told them our
military uses metric I doubt they will believe you and will insist you are a
member of some anti-American organisation trying to deceive god-fearing,
wholesome, patriotic, and whatever else Americans into believing our
gov-ment would do such a thing.
As a test, next time you see one, make sure to bring it up and see what
response you get. As for me, I consider them types the scum of the earth
and wouldn't lower myself to their level even to give them the time of the
day.
