Dear Terry,

I don't think you're going to get much joy out of these media
organizations. There's obviously some Congressman in Washington that's
telling them to "keep it American" (to the detriment of the future of all
Americans).

I've been writing since 1984 to the National Geographic Magazine to catch
up with the rest of the world to use metric notations instead of US ones
only, but they prefer to keep their heads in the sand and pretend that
no-one in the English-speaking world wants to read metric measures so why
change?

I get the same reply each time "...after long and careful consideration we
have decided....etc, etc". I got fed up waiting for something that's never
going to happen so I now subscribe to the Australian Geographic Magazine
which I find to be a far superior production (it's 100% metric) and I will
stay with them.

Best wishes
Mike Joy
