I'm of the opinion that the stereotype 'English' is not appropriate (since not all 
'English'-speaking peoples use it!).  The term 'imperial' is much more befitting as it 
conveys the clear message (among other things) that it originates from an 
"imperialistic" thinking!!!...  ;-)
