Last weekend, I was watching the BBC show
Changing Rooms. It's the show upon which the
US show Trading Spaces is based, and it's about
two groups of people who work on refurbishing
a room in the other group's house, over two days.

It was interesting to watch the British version
and hear measurements entirely in metric. They
talked about litres of paint, marking off lines
on the wall, every 10 cm, and when they gave dimensions to the
carpenter for a bookcase, they said it was to be
1600 wide (meaning 1600 mm). Very refreshing to
see metric in use.
