I understand that the measure around the chest is a length measure, but I
cannot see how one could measure the capacity of a brassiere cup with a
single length measure. Perhaps you could elaborate.

This is a trade secret; it is 'commercial-in-confidence'; but the concept of
the USA term 'jugs' springs to mind.
