If it means anything, the personals ads I've seen in Canadian newspapers all give wombat measurements for the posters.  So, too, do the birth announcements.  For some reason people still want to compare themselves or their babies to their ancestors.  Culture with regard to body measurements dies really, really hard.

Newspapers print paid birth announcements as the parents word them.    In editorial matter the (Toronto) Globe and Mail uses SI exclusively.
