Help, list!  This is from another list.  What he is referring to by "tractive effort" is pulling power.  I know "lb" isn't correct, but I want to make sure what IS correct before responding.

"Buff strength" refers to the force the end of the car can withstand before structural failure.

think a Genesis loco has less then 100,000 lb tractive effort. All Amtrak
cars have 800,000 lb buff strength. (Acela 1,200,000)
