It is a matter of renaming the 'existing fields' and NOT rebuilding the STADIA, to startwith and popularise Metrication in US/Europe and may be in India (since here the game is different)!I propose the >field >could be redefined as 90m x50m (98.4252yds x54.6807yds). I think that this is worthy of discussion, because it stands as a classic sticking point. I think that the suggestion to leave it for a while in the side-track of unchanged, culturally resistant traditions is the best. In the long run, perhaps the NFL will rebuild stadia to accommodate a metric and decimal system. Changing a first down to nine meters is not likely to receive a great deal of support.
