my first thought is quite common 360� -> 400 gon, no minutes or seconds,
subdivisions only in conjuction with metric prefixes permitted. E.g. 10
centigon which should equal 10 kilometers.


this is actually about navigation but how about other fields like math or
even physics which really rely on degrees in areas like force on a inclined
horizon or AC calculations with complex numbers and many other fields.
those would actually change the number after the calculation.


has someone a good and reasonable approach on?



The BIPM bible, "The International System of Units", does not recognize the gon. However Table 6, footnote (b), says
"ISO 31 recommends that the degree be subdivided decimally rather than using the minute and second."
