Mighty chimp i will try to give you the answers.  As far as i know houses are designed in imperial only all components are imperial only. Grocerys some grocerys are advertised in metric only and sold in metric only, such as sugar flower salt baking powder and soda.  The more i think of it there are a lot of products sold in the grocery store that are in metric.  When you ask a person how fast they are going in their car they will tell you in kilometers, even though the car has both miles and kilometers.  The miles are on the inner circle of the speedometer.  The car my wife drives has both kilometers and miles.  If i ask her Doreen how fast are you going she never tels me in miles.  Weather is in metric.  Temperature in degrees c wind speed in kilometers rain fall in mm and snow in cm.  pressure is given in KPA.  Drivers licenses in most provinces in Canada are in metric for the persons height and weight.  I believe there are still 2 provinces that use imperial.  In British Columbia drivers licenses have been metric since 1996.  So maybe after i thought about it for a while there is more metric in Canada then i thought.  I would still like to see it done all the way  John Mercer
