I do that occasionally. I had some early complaints where I was overenthusiastic and the definitive data is non-metric. For example a manufacturer defined horsepower value given second place to my converted and rounded kW value. Giving a converted value higher priority than a precise value does seem unreasonable. I now only reverse the order when the metric value is at least as valid as the imperial value. www.wikipedia.org
