Dear All,

The BIPM brochure, 'The International System of Units (SI)' uses the
spelling, metre, throughout the English translation and does not comment on
this spelling or suggest any alternatives.

You might like to go to http://www.unc.edu/~rowlett/units/spelling.html to
see more about spelling SI units. Russ Rowlett is usually reliable on these
issues.
