Gordon Brown, a Scot, recently encouraged people to fly the UK flag whenever they can. He's also less pro-EU than Blair (in fact he's probably slightly eurosceptic, with his "5 economic tests" preventing the Euro being implemented in the UK, something Blair really wanted).

So the jury's out....

Blair has just announced he is standing down as PM and Labour leader on June 27. Perhaps a Gordon Brown government will be more amenable to finishing metriction in the UK.
One can always hope.
