Dadgum it Harry. All this time, I've been telling people it's not very humid
in this area (which is just down the road from your area and just up the
road from the Central Valley).
 
However, I'm comparing it with Atlanta, Houston, Miami, Singapore, and so
on. It doesn't have to get anywhere near forty degrees in those places to be
really oppressive.

You folks think it is hot?  Last July in the Sacramento Valley our car
thermometer (it's a Volvo, and always right on) hit 48 briefly, before
settling down to 47.  People from California will remember that ten-day
stretch of really hot weather.  I had visitors from New Zealand in the car
and they were amazed--and hot.  And it is fairly humid here, unlike Arizona.
