Jerry, Do you have access to *any* motor vehicle made by GM, Ford, or Chrysler in the past ten years? If you do, check the nuts and bolts. You will discover that they have millimeter (not inch) threads. Automotive parts are made, interchangeably in millimeter sizes, in many countries throughout the world, and assembled is still other countries. Hence, almost everything is in millimeter sizes. One exception is wheel rim diameters.
