Re: FPLA, who are the key legislators involved? They're the ones we need to
focus on. It's easy enough to look up who's on the commerce committee ... are
they the guys? Is it stuck in that committee? Why? Which one of them could
unstick it? Are there any public comments from this committee with respect to
why this proposal has not been put in a bill? Any one else who knows why there
has been no action? Have these congressmen responded to USMA inquiries with an
explanation? Could these responses be shared with the group? Was there some
kind of response to the EU's request for this metric-only revision? Where
would we find that?
Ideally, USMA would list all of this on their website together with specific
actions members could take, like the NRA does, for example.

Should we send a link or an actual copy of the drafted legislation? I ask
because Congressmen are busy people and sometimes won't read through letters or
emails that are too long.

NIST has the changes and it should be on the Internet. I don't
know where. Perhaps the UISMA does and either a link or the text could be
posted on the USMA web site and sent to all.
A copy should be sent to each congressperson with a list of reasons
attached to go metric. It also should be made personal.

Does NIST have a copy of their legislation they've drafted
available on the internet somewhere? If there is a copy should we send one to
our congressmen or should we just send a letter/e-mail stating that NIST has
legislation?
