As a rule of thumb, if I see a headline in the Daily Mail about the EU or about metrication, my immediate reaction is "What part of the story have they left out and if it was included, would the article make so much sense that the article would cease to be newsworthy?" I also check for the name "Neil Herron" (spokesman for the so-called "Metric Martyrs"). If his name appears, I apply the same level of mistrust. When Herron's name appears in the Daily Mail, then I need a lot of convincing that what I am reading is a fair reflection of reality.
