I completed my BS Nat. Sci. in 1968 with a major in chemistry. We used SI. The American Chemical Society requires SI in its articles. The only group of scientists that I have come across who use old cgs units such as the dyne and erg are American astronomers. Internationally the IAU espouses SI.
