I agree - and there’s a mechanism for detecting a fast puncture which uses the 
chosen method of reading from the driveshaft to alert the driver

Many of my cars have mechanicals ones however I’m having an electronic one 
fitted to my (real) mini which translates movement to digital.

GPS can be used to supply a reading too - some with a form of intelligence for 
tunnels
