If I'm not mistaken, the 1991 Omnibus legislation declared the metric system
"the preferred system of the United States Government"
Why then, in the 21st century am I forced to "round up" when sending a package
via USPS?

I sell on eBay. A LOT on eBay. When I use USPS, I am told by the US postal
service to "round up" to the next whole amount when sending a package. IE - If
my package is 15.1 "ozzes", I am to round up to 16 "ozzes" to avoid a package
being sent back "insufficient funds. " All due to the fact that we cling to a
"system" of measure that should've been relegated to the history books 150
years ago.

The answer - metric, of course! The linear gram/kg is the answer.

I have written our Postmaster General requesting the option to measure and
weight the package using the International System of Weights & Measures in
addition to United States only units.

The ONLY way to get noticed is to get LOUD and get NOTICED.

You can contact the postmaster general here:

USPS Office of Inspector General
1735 N. Lynn Street
Arlington, VA 22209-2020

Again, it doesn't need to be anything lengthy. Just a simple request to have
access to SI in the last nation on earth to recognize it's value and
importance. Personally, I am tired of living in a "special needs nation".

GO METRIC, AMERICA!
The World Is Waiting...
