Speaking of all this ward directory stuff, I started to create a website
for our single's ward. My goal was to leverage BYU's LDAP to fill out
most of the information and people would be able to update their own
information at any time (pending approval from appropriate members of
the Bishopric, etc). Elders Quorum Pres and Relief Society Pres could
create HT and VT assignments or delegate that responsibility. Ward
members would then be able to report their HT and VT and the Presidents
would be able to have that information quickly. Members would also be
able to browse the ward directory in HTML, or dynamically create a pdf
for printing at anytime and it would be updated. Other things would
include messaging, calendar and other extras. Unfortunately, my last
semester of school was crazy trying to graduate, then I did a huge
remodel on my house over the summer and now I'm getting married. I don't
know if I will finish it now :( I'm kind of bummed about it. I wasn't
sure how I would generate a pdf from raw data, I know it's possible, but
it would have been fun to figure out.
