Check Two Bros. Racing ( http://www.twobros.com/vmaxso.html ), they manufacture a set 
of pipes (slip-ons) that I think are very impressive and are as you say sports type. 
You can get them in aluminium or carbon type. Only drawback is the price. I can assure 
you that if I lived in the States I would have a set on my king. 
I'll end up having them but right now, it's too complicated and even more expensive 
here in Europe.

I'll send you a private pic so you can appreciate a true set of beautiful and power 
bumping slip-ons and of course the sound is out of this world, just deep tone 
throbbing on idle to a low pitch honing at full throttle.
