I have a lot of two stroke experience on this (built 8 jet ski world champions)
A spark plug will change color very quickly through the different throttle
positions. The only way to do it is to ride along at the the throttle position
(or circuit)you are trying to tune for at least several minutes. A long empty
road is desirable. Chop the throttle and coast to a stop and immediately yank
the plug. This doesn't mean down shift and come to a stop!!!!! A blip of the
throttle can screw you up as well as backing off the throttle because it
immediately puts you on another carb circuit which may cool or heat the plug
differently than where you were just riding.
Happy tuning.....
