chris, i'd guess several things could have happened for your
85 to get later model exhaust. Dealer's sometimes seem to
change things on the bikes for whatever reason. Maybe it fell
over in the shop or some guy was test driving it and dropped
it. Then they just slapped on whatever replacement they could
fine ?? On my 94 I think the dealer painted it a snappier
looking yellow cuz they couldn't sell the stock yellow cuz
it was pretty dull.
