the two nuts as you probably know have two different sides, one side is flat
and the other is slightly rounded on the top. when you put the two nuts
together how do you arrange them in respect to flat side up or down?

I've done the fubur fix on several bikes and instead of putting the washer
between the nuts have torqued the bottom nut 10 lbs.then put the second nut
on with the same torque then the washer on top.As long as the washer is the
same thickness as the rubber washer that was removed the triple crown
torques correctly and holds the assembly tight. This seems to look a little
better as it hides the washer and has the same effect as putting the washer
between the nuts in that it makes a rigid assembly with no chance of the
nuts backing off.
Any comments pro or con ? Bob H
