Clancy,
If you don't have a really tiny little mechanic at your house then the
stack has to come off and be broken apart. There is actually a
centerline mark on the rear of the fuel bowl that you can use to check
your levels, (once the stack is apart). Just mark 15-16mm, (whatever
you are using), below this mark and feed the carb with an elevated
fuel supply, (siphon off a gas tank works OK). Slide a piece of 1/4
clear on top of the little black drain hoses and make sure the fuel
reaches the level you have marked on the back of the fuel bowl, (make
a level platform to set the carbs on when you do this). Doing this
will allow you to go back an make any final touch ups on the levels
before putting everything back together and on the bike. There are a
bunch of ways to do this, (and you are liable to hear some of the
variations in response to your post), ... but this is the way I do it
