Well one reason could be cost( but maybe not ),look at the bikes you
mentioned, when was the last time you saw a stock max running around Daytona,
Loudin,etc, those bikes are ultra performance bikes, the max is a power cruiser,
I have the older max brakes and I've pulled a few bonehead moves on it and the
brakes were there when I needed them, the newer brake set-up are far better
again, it's the tire and weight of the bike the limiting factor, I've driven
most of the bikes you mentioned and the brakes are beautiful compared to the
max, I think the three line system with steel braided lines is fine, but that's
only my opinion.
