A somewhat brighter bulb won't help - you're trying to overpower the Sun!
I've been plagued by this for many years on different bikes and the easiest
solution (like you suggested) would be to replace the lenses you can't see
in the daylight, with one's that you can...
i.e. you said you can see the yellow turn indicator easily? Just swap them
in...
