My '85 has done the same thing since I bought it in '92 with 4K miles. I've
read the follow-up responses to this msg, but no one offered much of an
explanation. I don't have one either(!), but wanted to let you know you're
not alone with this VERY strange problem....
One thing though, I haven't noticed it happening since I switched to regular
gas instead of premium... you try to make the connection...
I can't imagine the plugs firing when the ignition is turned on, but maybe
there's some residual 'charge' left in the big capacitor that fires if
everything lines up just right after the shutdown - as someone said in one
response.
If you find out anything, please post it - there may be others with this
strange 'feature'!
